Add a Conditional Exclusion Constraint

Add a Conditional Exclusion Constraint

Block certain variable combinations by setting up a conditional exclusion in the experiment UI.

Key Steps

  1. Open the constraints panel — In your experiment, go to the constraints section.

  2. Select conditional exclusion — Choose "Conditional Exclusion" as the constraint type.

  3. Configure the condition — Define the IF condition: pick a variable and specify the range or categories that trigger the constraint.

  4. Configure the exclusion — Define the THEN exclusion: pick a second variable and specify the values to block when the condition is met.

  5. Save the constraint — Give it a descriptive name and save.

Good to Know

  • A conditional exclusion uses AND logic — all conditions must be met simultaneously for the exclusion to apply.

  • You can add multiple conditions to a single constraint for more complex relationships.
